Alpiners Get Moving
Alpine is participating in a district initiative to get kids (and adults) moving. The district received a grant that provided training this summer for our teachers, along with classroom equipment to help us get moving.
Why move? Research has shown that taking a quick 2 minute movement break every 20 minutes wakes up the brain. It is MUCH easier to learn and retain information when your brain is awake. So ask your kids about all the ways they are moving in class!
In addition to classroom movement, we are able to offer the “100 Mile Running Club” this year to students, families and staff. We will be running Monday and Friday mornings before school. Children who are signed up receive a special t-shirt and are able to mark off when they have completed a total of 25, 50, 75 than 100 miles.
To sign up and pay the nominal $10 fee, click on “Online Payments” and under the “General Information” section, click on “Register for Selected Programs.” The 100 Mile Club is the first one on the list! We have lots of parents already joining us – come be a part of getting Alpine moving!
