Principal Notes
Hello Alpine Families,
Did you know that Alpine teams with a number of community organizations to bring the world inside the classroom? Students have the opportunity to learn from experts in a multitude of fields and classroom presentations generally connect with IB Units of Inquiry.
Here are just a few examples of the learning opportunities students have had access to this year:
Students throughout the school learned about economics and personal finance by teaming with Junior Achievement.
Second and third graders have learned about environmental education through a partnership with EcoCycle.
Fourth graders have learned about energy conservation through the Kilowatt Kidz Program through Boulder County.
Fifth graders have learned about social skills and teamwork through the GRIP program through the City of Longmont.
These experiences in addition to grade level field trips help to expand students’ background knowledge and view of the world, and we are proud to team with our local organizations.
Gratefully,
Amber Marsolek EdD – Principal
Jennifer Dalby EdD – Dean of Students
