Alpine Inquirer – 08/23/24

First Day of Preschool

Principal Notes

Hello Alpine Families,

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are so excited to welcome our students back to school for another fantastic year of learning and growth! As we begin this new year, it’s important to set the tone for a positive and productive school year. One key factor is regular attendance.

Your child’s presence in class is essential for their academic success and overall development. By attending school consistently, they have the opportunity to fully engage in lessons, participate in activities, and build strong relationships with their peers and teachers.

Our goal is to keep absences to a minimum. Please make every effort to ensure your child is in school daily. If your child is unable to attend school, please notify the school office by calling (720) 652-8140 or emailing our attendance clerk, Melissa Meehan, at [email protected].

Chronic absenteeism can negatively impact your child’s learning. According to federal guidelines, students who miss 17.5 days or more per year are considered chronically absent. If your child is experiencing excessive absences, we may reach out to discuss creating an attendance plan. Together, we can work to identify any underlying issues and implement positive incentives to support your child’s attendance. Please contact Jennifer Dalby or Becky Ramsay if your family needs any support with regular attendance.

Let’s make this a year of consistent attendance and academic success!

Gratefully,

Amber Marsolek EdD – Principal

Jennifer Dalby EdD – Dean of Students

Code of Conduct

Dear Alpine students and families,

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

Again, thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel to call the office at 720-652-8140

Sincerely,

Dr. Amber Marsolek
