Student Clubs
Alpine Elementary is excited to announce another round of Student Clubs! The majority of the cost of the clubs is being paid for by our Alpine PTO, using funds raised from our FundRun. All clubs will run weekly on Wednesdays for 8 weeks, from October 22nd to December 17th (except Puzzle Club and ASL Club which will begin Oct. 29th). Classes will be held from 3:45-4:45. Students will check in with Lion’s Den after school and then the teacher will collect them to go to their club space. Students will be dismissed back to Lion’s Den and parents will need to pick up from the cafeteria door. Please be considerate of your child’s attendance and let the club teacher know if they will be absent. Please try not to miss more than one class so students can maximize their club experience. If you have any questions please call the office or contact the staff member running the club. Club sign-up will be available at stvrain.revtrak.net on Wednesday, October 15th at 8:00AM.

IB News
What is Inquiry-Based Learning?
One of the most important features of the IB PYP is its inquiry-based approach to learning. Instead of teachers simply giving answers, students are encouraged to ask questions, explore, and investigate topics that connect to real life. Inquiry can take many forms—finding out new information, testing ideas, solving problems, or reflecting on experiences.
Through inquiry, students learn how to think critically, work collaboratively, and apply their learning in meaningful ways. For example, a unit about “Sharing the Planet” might lead students to research water conservation, interview community members, and design their own action projects. Inquiry empowers children to be curious, engaged, and active participants in their own learning, preparing them to be lifelong learners.

Alpine Community Night

Hello everyone! Our first official Alpine Community Night for the year will be on Wednesday, October 8 from 4-8pm at the Noodles & Co located at 2255 Main St. They will donate 25% of the proceeds from all orders during that window. Note that in order for Alpine to get credit you must mention Alpine Elementary or present the flyer that will be sent home. If ordering online you can use the code GIVING25 but you need to make sure you are signed into your rewards account to use the code. If you have time to eat there in person then you may be able to make friends with some other Alpine families. Hope to see you all there!

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
We are so grateful to the businesses that supported Alpine’s Fund Run. Their generosity helps enrich the student experience all year long. Please join us in thanking and supporting our sponsors:

St. Vrain Valley Schools Presents BAND NIGHT

St. Vrain Valley Schools invites families to attend Band Night on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 6:00 p.m. at Everly-Montgomery Field in Longmont. The evening will feature performances from high school bands across the district, concluding with a drone show presented by the St. Vrain Student Performance Drone Team. This event is a great opportunity to bring students and the community together in support of local feeder high schools.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children age six and under. Eighth grade students will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
Free and Reduced Meals

Families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to complete an application by Oct. 1. While all St. Vrain Valley students receive one free breakfast and one free lunch daily through Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program, submitting an application provides additional benefits to families such as fee waivers, college exam discounts, and reduced internet and utility costs, and also helps bring federal funding to support classrooms, after-school programs, technology, and additional meals and snacks for students. Applications are available online or at Nutrition Services, 2929 Clover Basin Dr., Longmont.
Support Staff Job Fair

St. Vrain Valley Schools invites community members to the Support Staff Job Fair on Monday, October 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Opportunities are available across the district in roles including paraprofessionals, custodial services, transportation, maintenance, nutrition services, and more. Attendees will meet with district leaders, explore current openings, and receive support with the application process. St. Vrain offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the chance to positively shape the educational experience for students.
