Bio
My name is Danny Currie and I am excited to be a part of the Alpine community. My bff and wife Allison and I moved out here from Massachusetts in 2009. I have worked in elementary education for 20 years from pre-k special education up to 4th grade. My curiosity has no boundaries. I love to read great fiction as well as science, poetry, and especially history. Art is a particularly favorite pastime of mine, painting and drawing, building and gardening are all on the top of my list when I am not at school. Other hobbies I enjoy are playing soccer, although I do love all things outdoors and active like hiking, pickleball, and swimming. I try to get to a beach once a year to enjoy the salty air and marine life by snorkeling. Respecting nature is so important to me so I try to visit and explore one national park each summer, they are majestic. Teaching is my passion that came out of my love for coaching soccer to 5 year olds all the way up through college teams. It's so much fun to watch people get better at something and enjoy it even more. I look forward to every day of teaching and seeing how our collective creativity can make something greater together.
