The Alpine Talent show was a big success including comedians, artists, dancers, singers, musicians, cheerleaders, yo-yoers and more. It was such a treat to see students’ in the spotlight.
Principal’s Notes
Hello Alpine Families,
We are so fortunate to have so many amazing things going on at Alpine. We are happy to provide rich learning experiences for students on and off campus. Recently our fifth graders went on a field trip to Young Ameritowne in Denver to learn about personal finance and second grade traveled to the SVVS Innovation Center to explore STEM design thinking. We have more field trips for other grade levels planned for the spring as well. Thanks to your fundraising and the support of our PTO, we are able to offer these field trips free of charge this year.
During the upcoming five weeks of school, attendance, especially in third through fifth grade will be of the utmost importance. Our students are preparing for the state CMAS assessments that will begin April 8. Students will be honing their skills, reviewing old content, and learning new material for the tests. We look forward to all of our students being at school so we can prepare them to be their best.

Registration Open for Elementary Project Launch
Academic proficiency is an important district goal for elementary students. Research shows that extended school year learning opportunities positively impact student success.
Project Launch Program Includes:
- Targeted literacy practice daily
- Content literacy in science and social studies
- Focused math study and exploration
- Transportation provided for those who qualify from predetermined bus stops
- Breakfast and lunch provided
- Exiting Kindergarten – 4th Grade Students
- Available at no cost to families

We will close individual grade levels when full. Space is limited! To register, please contact your school or teacher for a registration form, and return your completed form to either your child’s teacher, or the school office. Innovation Center Opportunities
We have several upcoming STEM learning opportunities at the Innovation Center for elementary students. We would love for you to share with your staff and families.
STEM Night and Student Design Guild
The STEM Night and Student Design Guild at the Innovation Center focuses on activities for preschool and elementary school-aged children and is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm. STEM Night will highlight different STEM activities for students, including learning what it’s like to participate in our many divisions: Aeronautics, Bioscience, Computer Science / Cybersecurity, Design and Virtual Reality, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, and Studio/Video Productions.
The Student Design Guild, hosted with the STEM Night events listed above, provides students with an opportunity to identify relevant problems and showcase their solutions to an authentic audience. Students can use the Design Thinking Process, the Scientific Method, the Engineering Process, or any other problem solving process to become deep thinkers about the world around them.

Summer Opportunities at the IC
Over the summer we will have opportunities at the IC for students who have completed Kindergarten through high school. Most camps are one week in duration, but there is one two-week program, Innovation Academy, available to students currently in kindergarten, first or second grade who will be rising 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders this summer. In addition, we have several other “Super STEM” camps for K-5 students. Please include in your upcoming parent and staff communications / newsletters the link to our website for summer programming. Registration for all summer camps will open March 1.

St. Vrain Valley Schools Achieves the Highest Graduation Rate in Denver Metro Area
St. Vrain Valley Schools has achieved the highest on-time graduation rate in the district’s history, at 93.3%. This is also the highest graduation rate of any district in the Denver Metro area, and the highest of any district in Colorado with more than 300 graduates.
