Alpine art at the district Art Show. Great job Alpine students!!!!

Dear Parents/Guardians

Thank you so much for getting your children to school on time during the CMAS assessments. We have one more day of English Language Arts assessments on Monday. Fifth graders will take the CMAS science assessment Tuesday through Thursday. We are so proud of all the hard work that our students have put in.

This Monday is our last PTO meeting of the year. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the Alpine community.

Additionally, we look forward to hosting our first evening Cafecito, hosted entirely in Spanish, Tuesday, May 2nd from 5:00-6:00pm.  The topic will be Why Mental Health Is So Important in Our Families’ Lives. Families are invited to Alpine to bring a dish for a pot luck and enjoy community time.

Have an amazing week!

With Gratitude,
Amber Marsolek – Principal & Jennifer Dalby – Dean

      Summer Opportunities

Hello SV Families and welcome to the 2023 Student Design Guild! The Design Guild focuses on Design Thinking, a human-centered, problem-seeking, problem-solving approach to finding answers for many of the world’s issues.  Does your child constantly seek out solutions to problems they encounter?  Are they always designing, brainstorming, building and prototyping?  Consider having your child enter the Student Design Guild where they can share and showcase their prototype of a problem they want to solve.

      • To participate in and submit a prototype to the Design Guild, see the flier attached for more information!

      PYP Community News

      Hello, Alpine families!

To help you navigate some of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) vocabulary and concepts that we live, use, and teach here at Alpine Elementary IB World School, watch this space in future newsletters.  Click here for a really helpful flyer: “5 ways you could support your child as a PYP parent.” / “Cinco maneras de ayudar a su hijo en el PEP.” (Put it on the fridge for quick reference!).

      – Bob “Señor” Roy, IB Coordinator / Spanish

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) brings vocabulary and concepts to our learning at Alpine Elementary IB World School.  As we try to understand our world we approach each new thing by asking questions (inquiring) around 7 Key Concepts which are fundamental:

Form (What’s it like?), Function (How does it work?), Causation (Why is it like it is?), Change (How is it changing?), Connection (How is it connected?), Perspective (What are the points of view?),  Responsibility (What is our responsibility?).
