Dear Parents/Guardians
As we approach the end of the school year, we wanted to remind you of the upcoming Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) state testing schedule. This year, the tests will take place during the weeks of April 10th through April 21st. We would like to stress the importance of having your child attend school on the testing dates.
It is crucial that students are in attendance during testing days to ensure that they are fully prepared and have the opportunity to showcase their academic abilities. If your child is absent during the testing dates, they will miss out on valuable information that can help them improve their learning and understand their strengths and weaknesses.
We understand that sometimes appointments and other commitments are necessary, but we strongly encourage you to avoid scheduling them during the hours of CMAS testing. This will minimize disruptions and ensure that your child has the best possible chance to succeed.
Additionally, it is important for students to get adequate sleep and have a good breakfast on the testing days. This will help them to stay focused and alert during the testing period. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before the testing days and eats a healthy breakfast in the morning.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a positive testing environment for our students. We believe that together, we can ensure that our students perform to the best of their abilities.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
With Gratitude,
Amber Marsolek – Principal & Jennifer Dalby – Dean

PYP Community News
Hello, Alpine families!
To help you navigate some of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) vocabulary and concepts that we live, use, and teach here at Alpine Elementary IB World School, watch this space in future newsletters. Click here for a really helpful flyer: “5 ways you could support your child as a PYP parent.” / “Cinco maneras de ayudar a su hijo en el PEP.” (Put it on the fridge for quick reference!).

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) brings vocabulary and concepts to our learning at Alpine Elementary IB World School. As we try to understand our world we approach each new thing by asking questions (inquiring) around 7 Key Concepts which are fundamental:
Form (What’s it like?), Function (How does it work?), Causation (Why is it like it is?), Change (How is it changing?), Connection (How is it connected?), Perspective (What are the points of view?), Responsibility (What is our responsibility?).
