Skyline high school feeder students sang the National Anthem at the Skyline High School football game.

Dear Alpine Families,

We are 4 days away from our FUNDRun and we’re so excited to hand out t-shirts on Friday, September 22, and to see our students running that evening. This weekend is the time to do the final push to earn funds for the school. We have raised 89% of our $35,000 goal as of Saturday morning. We’re so close, Mountain Lions!

Parents, we need some help running some of the events at the FUNDRun. Please consider helping during a 30 minute slot – here is the link to sign up. Parents who sign up for volunteering can attend a short Webex meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m. so they understand what they’re doing while volunteering. Here is the link to join the Webex meeting.

Finally, we want to remind families there will be four food trucks at the event, PTO will be selling extra cotton candy, and students start running at 5:05 p.m. Please see the attached flier for the grade-level running times.

See you on Friday!

Hola familias Alpinas:

Gratefully,

Amber Marsolek, Principal

Jennifer Dalby, Dean of Students

Neighborhood Request

Please avoid parking in the neighborhood pullouts in front of houses on Alpine St. These pullouts are private property, and it is important to respect our school neighbors.

Our neighbors thank you.

Parent Volunteer Opportunity

The School Accountability Committee is an opportunity for parents and community members to have a voice in the continuous school improvement process. This team of volunteers meets with a teacher representative and the building principal 4-6 times per year to review school data, including climate surveys and achievement testing results.  Members of the team learn about the continuous school improvement process as well as the progress of the students at Alpine Elementary, and offer insight and feedback.  Members serve two years on a rotating basis, so 1-2 seats are open at the beginning of each school year. The School Improvement Team is an excellent way for members of the Alpine community to help us continue to achieve our very best.

Please email [email protected] if you are interested in serving on the School Accountability Committee.

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress.  In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Code of Conduct

Dear Alpine students and families,

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here. Again, thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 720-652-8140
